Under AS 25.05.261, any adult can pay $25 at the Palmer Superior Court to get appointed as a marriage commissioner for a single ceremony. The appointment is a one-time authorization and must be renewed for any additional ceremonies.

Applying in person costs $60 and allows both applicants to complete the process in one visit. The mail-in option to the Juneau HAVRS office costs $70. Waiting Period and Validity

Who Can Perform the Ceremony

Before the 50-year cutoff, only the parties to the marriage, parents, adult children, or legal representatives can request certified copies.
